About Us

Vision

We envision a world in which individuals, families and communities have the hope and capacity to build conditions that promote Total Health.

Mission

SMAid International promotes the Total Health of people living in the world’s poorest communities by partnering to:

We are stewards

As stewards, we understand the value of the talents bestowed upon us by our Lord and Savior Jesus. We take diligent care of what we have been entrusted with, extending our reach to the less privileged and marginalized. We are accountable for the resources generously given to us by donors

Our Core Values

We believe that each individual’s work and efforts collectively help in achieving our results and targets. We hold each individual in high esteem, as well as the communities we work in/with. Furthermore, we believe in unity in diversity.

We are called to serve

As an organization, we believe we are called to serve the marginalized, and vulnerable with humility and Love. We also believe that as Christians we are called to provide support

We are accountable

We are transparent in all our dealings, including financials. We at SMAid believe that whatever we do here on earth, we shall be accountable to God. We are transparent about our decisions and actions and as a result, we accomplish what we plan to do. As an organization, we are accountable for every action we take, no matter the outcome. The resources given to us by donors are used for their intended tasks. We want our donors to feel comfortable giving to help the marginalized and vulnerable in our society. We give detailed accounts of the resources we receive from donors. Furthermore, we report annually to our stakeholders by providing details of our annual and financial reports.

We are people-centered

SMAid focuses on approaches that help communities to develop holistically which encompasses the mental, moral, physical, financial, and spiritual. We do not discriminate against persons based on religion, gender and nationalities. We focus on bringing lasting impacts and change to the people we work with, thus not looking at our own things but looking at the interest of others.

We believe in teamwork

At SMAid, we believe that though the body has many parts, it still forms one body. We believe that each individual’s work and efforts collectively help in achieving our results and targets. We hold each individual in high esteem, as well as the communities we work in/with. Furthermore, we believe in unity in diversity.

Integrity is our hallmark

Everything we do as an organization is not only done in the sight of God but also in the sight of Men. We follow our moral and ethical convictions, and we ensure that the right thing is done in all circumstances. We are honest and truthful in all of our dealings. We are consistent with our actions and plans regardless of the situation.

We are responsive

At SMAid we are quick to respond and react appropriately to appeals and suggestions from the communities when they are stricken by emergencies and life-threatening challenges. We are sensitive to changes and control mechanisms and react in a ready manner.

We are stewards

We believe that we have been given talents and skills by God and we are to work with our talents and skills to produce yields some ten, five, three, etc. We take good care of what God has assigned us with which includes taking good care of the land, reaching to the less privileged and marginalized. We also ensure that the resources given to us by donors, individuals, organisations and partners are used for the intended purpose to generate benefits for the communities we partner and work with.
Executive Director

Josue Tchimou

On behalf of the Leadership, Management and Staff of Sustainable Mission Aid (SMAid) International, formerly Map International in Ghana, it is my pleasure to thank you for visiting our website and supporting the work we do in Ghana, Cote d’Ivoire and across Africa via our sisters NGOs partners in Liberia and Kenya.

SMAid International is a Health, Relief, and Development Organization that partners with vulnerable communities to improve the lives of Individuals, Children, and Families by identifying and helping them to overcome obstacles and challenges that prevent them from living life in its fullness.

Although SMAid International is a Christian organization, we are committed to helping and serving everyone without discrimination based on religion, gender, race, and other aspects of an individual’s background; as the cornerstone of our faith commands us in Mark 12:3: “Love your neighbour as yourself. There is no commandment greater than these”.
