Why Should You Donate to Us
THV is a holistic, transformational development program that works to build capacity of community members to solve their own problems. The approach uses a Ten-Seed-Technique (TST) in identifying needs of communities and prioritize them for interventions by the communities and SMAID. Under this unique program SMAid implements projects in the areas of Education, VSLA, Women in Agriculture, Nutrition, Youth and Women Empowerment.
SMAid’s maternal and child health project aims at reaching out to children under 5 and pregnant and lactating women in rural areas. Immunization and vaccinations are given to children under 5 years as well as ensuring good nutrition for them. The project further promotes antenatal and post natal clinic sessions for pregnant women through Mobile Clinic (MC). SMAid partners with GHS and other stakeholders in delivery that meet the needs of those we serve in the rural areas, so as to reduce infant and maternal mortality.
Neglected Tropical Diseases are a group of parasitic and bacterial diseases that cause substantial illness for more than one billion people globally. SMAid’s control effort focuses on prevention, identification, awareness creation of the disease and treatment. SMAid uses an integrated approach in fighting against NTDs. SMAid trains health promoters and health professionals to quickly diagnose cases of Buruli ulcer, leprosy, yaws and other skin related NTDs, to properly treat patients, manage wounds, and educate communities on prevention strategies.
